I understand the interest in educational technology, especially the current buzz in the industry. I also have a passion for it, shown by my dedication to a Ph.D. in the field and continued work and involvement with both, established and new educational technologies.

I also find most research, interest, and funding of educational technology hilarious. Most of it doesn’t make sense. lacks an understanding of the history of educational technology, and that of education in the U.S. at all.

For this, I am thankful. I can’t help but be a critic to the research I read, the internet posts and are popular, and the headlines from popular news outlets.

Did you know that students learn better when technology is programmed to yell at them in their sleep? Tests in Auckland show promising preliminary results.
